Misty Hills Country Hotel, Conference Centre and Spa lies nestled at the foothills of the Swartkop Mountains, at the edge of the beautiful Kromdraai valley, a World Heritage site known as The Cradle of Humankind.

An affiliate of the Warwick International group of hotels, this charming stone-built complex has been converted into a rustic but tasteful venue that embodies the ethos of Africa.

Ideally positioned with easy access to major metropolitan centres and airports in the Gauteng district, Misty Hills has over 195 guestrooms, a spa, and a wide range of meeting room and conference facilities to cater for events of all sizes. The world-famous Carnivore Restaurant, where a range of African antelope and game meat are grilled on African spears over charcoal fires and carved at the guests’ table, are a unique feature of this truly South African rural hotel.

NFS first implemented roomMaster hotel management solution at Misty Hills in 2002. The latest version of the hotel software was then installed in 2007 and according to Pierre Goffinet, Group IT Manager at the property, the entire process took a mere one day for the installation followed up by a short period of staff training, so that all could use the software to its full capability.

“The training process is repeated every year to keep all staff up to date, and I must say that once the training is complete, it’s extremely simple to use,” says Mr Goffinet. “This software caters perfectly to our needs and we certainly use it to its full extent. All data associated with our guests is recorded along with keeping up-to-the-minute accounting records.”
